Born-Again Christian

The term Born-Again Christian, in today’s world, infers that a person of a Christian religion is a genuine Christian and not one in name only and that this person has had a real conversion to faith in Jesus. The believer has accepted Jesus Christ as his of her lord and savior through this conversion, all sins are forgiven and is saved from having to spend eternity in Hell and has received the free gift of God of eternal life in Heaven. It is believed to be the spiritual rebirth or regeneration of the human spirit.

First of all, the name “Christian” has a long history. It has a completely different connotation today than it did over 2000 years ago. Originally, the word came from a Greece-Egyptian cult who worshiped Serapis Christus and were known as Christianos (English translation: Christians). Paul converted them to the faith in Jesus and the “disciples were called Christians first in Antioch” (Acts 11:26). And did you know Antioch had many Serapis Christus worshipers? So that’s is the origin of the name Christian.

It is true, though, Christianity as begun by Paul did not exist before the worshipers of Serapis Christus were converted to the Pauline faith. The point here is the origin of the name (this is not to mention their worship of a triune god and the introduction of bishops — none of which existed before Paul).

This next part will be a little contentious also with Christians, but the expression “born-again” doesn’t mean spiritual regeneration — at least not in the way they think it means. This is an expression that originated with Jesus himself. It’s quite literal. He meant literally what he said.

If you have been born again, then that means you were born before. If you were born before, then you existed in a life before — pre-existence. If you will be born again, then you will have another life — reincarnation.

Unless you have been born again, you can not enter or even see the kingdom of God. Jesus said that unless you are born of water (your mother’s womb) and also born of the Spirit (a doer of righteousness and good works) you can not enter into the kingdom of God.

Jesus gives an allegory about the wind. Just like the wind that you can hear, but you can not see where it comes or goes, the same it is for those who are born into the spirit world. Everyone is born and everyone dies. When life is over the spirit goes “back to God who gave it“, it goes to the spirit world.

But if one hasn’t become righteous enough, there is NO WAY he can enter into the kingdom of God:

That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. (Mat 5:20)

Some go into the kingdom of God before others which suggests that the unrighteous take longer to go in than the righteous.

Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you. (Mat 21:31)

So being righteous and doing the will of God is what gets one into the kingdom of God, not merely believing. If you’re not living righteously and doing God’s will, even if you consider yourself a “born-again Christian”, you don’t go to a Hell that doesn’t exist — you must be born again and again until you become one that “overcomes”. And some “Christians” must be born again many times!

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.”

“And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” (Mat 7:21-23)

All Christians are “born again” but not all Christians enter into the kingdom of heaven after they leave this life. That’s why Jesus said:

“Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out…”

Going out” is the same as being born again. When in the spirit world if you are not yet one that “overcomes” you have to go out again and be born again into this world for more purifying and perfecting — until you are righteous and doing the will of God.
