The Trinity and Serapis Christus

And it came to pass, that a whole year _they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch. (Acts 11:26)

Evidently, the name Christian was born from the association with worshipers of the Serapis “Christus” cult. It was said that the Bishops of the cult were called “Christians”. It appears that some of the concepts of the Christianity were adopted from cult of Serapis Christus: the name Christianity, the Trinity (three in one god Serapis) and Bishops. The word bishop was not known with the early Jewish believers. Religious leaders of the early church were known as priests or rabbi, as it had been for many years before.  Continue reading

December 25, Whose Birthday?

Christmas is supposed to be a warm, happy time of year for people, but not for me. Since I was a kid I have always had an aversion to it. It seems odd to me that when Christmas came around each year I would have a depressed feeling. I guess it shouldn’t seem odd, since it was the confusing, materialistic spirit of Christmas that really got me down. Finally, I think I understand why I would always feel that way. Call me Scrooge or call me a heretic, but I can no longer accept or celebrate Christmas. Continue reading

Jesus Forewarned

“the enemies of truth and righteousness shall rule in my Name, and set up a kingdom of this world, and oppress the peoples, and cause the enemy to blaspheme, putting for my doctrines the opinions of men, and teaching in my Name that which I have not taught, and darkening much that I have taught by their traditions. The Curse of Jeconiah Rescinded

The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ …Jeconiah begat Shealtiel …And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary,of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ. (Mat 1:1-16) So you see, the royal lineage was NOT broken, according to Matthew’s genealogy.

Therefore, for Christian apologists the problem remains. The royal genealogy in Matthew is Jesus’s lineage; Jesus qualified through the genealogy in Matthew to inherit the throne of David and be the Messiah; which would make Joseph the biological father of Jesus; and finally Mary wasn’t a virgin when she had Jesus.

Problems this creates for Christian apologists:

  • The royal genealogy in Matthew is Jesus’s lineage
  • Jesus qualified through the genealogy in Matthew to inherit the throne of David
  • Jesus wasn’t born of a virgin,
  • he wasn’t God incarnate and
  • the whole virgin birth story was a forgery.

An Ex-Christian’s Letter to God

The New Testament of the bible for instance: there is not one original document written by Jesus or his disciples anywhere to be found. So how do I know what to believe? What are the facts? What did they actually say? And how do I know that they actually said it? How is it that some men get away with re-writing every bit of that precious information, then re-writing it several times and then burning or hiding or losing or whatever, the originals.

We can tell and prove, in many cases, that there has been so much changed from the original, so it’s just so hard to tell just how much of it is credible. What is credible and what is not? In a court of law if a man is caught telling lies, his whole testimony is thrown out. None of it is worthy of belief. How could the bible be any different?

Jesus never called himself God, never considered himself equal with you and in fact he even called you, “my God”, and yet fundamental Christians insist on saying that Jesus IS you in spite of all the evidence in the bible shows this not to be the case. And Jesus is supposed to be sitting on the right-hand of… himself?

Believe On or Believe In?

What is the difference between Everlasting Life and Salvation? Or is there a difference? Why are these terms different for the same concept? Or are they the same? I guess to most people, they could care less. However, if they have the same meaning then there is a great contradiction here.

If they are different, then there is something here that we haven’t seen before. It’s not a wonder most people don’t study and try to understand the bible for themselves, it takes a bible scholar with a doctorate degree to understand some of it. So people just leave the interpreting to the guys with the credentials and accept what they have to say as God-sent truth.

According to Jesus, Everlasting Life is obtained by keeping the commandments and doing good works. According to Paul, salvation is merely believing and one cannot be saved by good works which we have done, but belief only is “accounted” for righteousness. Apparently, salvation is being saved from Hell. The concept of Hell is foreign to the Bible. Maybe this is the reason Jesus preferred to use the term eternal life.

This is a direct contradiction of a basic concept. To make things more complicated, Jesus says in one of the gospels, “He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.” So in this place it seems that Jesus is agreeing with Paul in that all you have to do is believe. Weather or not he actually said those exact words is a different story.

But then in other places he says clearly that you have to keep his commandments and do good works to enter into life. What is one to believe? It’s not a wonder that people leave it up to the clergy to get their truth.

Famous Church Fathers

Corrupting the Gospels

“There are some who corrupt the Gospel histories, and who introduce heresies opposed to the meaning of the doctrine of Jesus” (Origen)

“…only those persons who were concerned in the fraud should, in equity, be held answerable for it” (Origen)

…admit of various and almost indefinite readings … because “the original text of the Gospels” has been altered to coincide and substantiate the doctrines of the Gentile converts in an attempt to prove their tenets of belief.” (Celsus) Continue reading

Aion Means Age, Not Always Eternal

Basically, there are two different general usages of the word: ‘without end’ or a ‘fixed period of time’. The correct translation should be determined by the context in which the word “aion” is found. “Aion” is at times translated “eternal” or “everlasting” and many times it should be instead translated “age” or even age lasting. Substitutionary Atonement

This theory makes Jesus into the sacrificial lamb of an ancient Jewish practice in which a lamb (or some other animal) was brought to the priest and was slaughtered — a practice they copied from heathen nations, not commanded by God. “For I spake not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices” (Jer 7:22)

Jesus was a type of sacrificial lamb

One problem with this theory is that God never was happy with the practice of animal sacrifice, in fact, he hated it from the very beginning. God did not accept their sacrifices as a expiation (the act of making amends for guilt). God preferred that men repented, forsook their sins and made peace with God directly.

But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you. (Jer 7:22-23)
