The Greek word “aion” or “eon” can be translated in two different correct definitions according to Strong’s Greek Dictionary:

Time without end: aion, age, course, eternal, ever, evermore, without end.

Fixed period of time: a space of time, a fixed or special occasion denoting a particular period or interval.
Basically, there are two different general usages of the word: ‘without end’ or a ‘fixed period of time’. The correct translation should be determined by the context in which the word “aion” is found. “Aion” is at times translated “eternal” or “everlasting” and many times it should be instead translated “age” or even age lasting.
The problem with many misunderstandings of the Bible is that many words or phrases are taken out of context — sometimes purposely.
There is no concept of a place such as Hell in the Bible, but even if there were, the usage of the Greek words “aion” “aions” and “aionios” are NOT eternities in the English language.
The following are some samples of verses translated from Greek to English in the Bible as “eternal” when they should not have been:

There was time BEFORE the aions (I Cor. 2:7, “BEFORE the eons”). Therefore, NOT eternal .

God MADE the aions (Heb. 1:2, “MAKES the eons”). Therefore, NOT eternal.

There were aions in the PAST (Col. 1:26, “hid FROM eons”). Therefore, NOT eternal.

This PRESENT age is called an aion (Gal. 1:4, “the PRESENT wicked eon”). Therefore, NOT eternal.

This PRESENT age will come to an END (Mat. 24:3, “The END [or conclusion] of the eon“). Therefore, NOT eternal.

There is coming another aion AFTER this present aion (Luke 18:30, “the eon TO COME“). Therefore, NOT eternal.
-
There are, in fact, coming multiples or FUTURE AIONS (Eph. 2:7, “the ONCOMING AIONS”). Therefore, NOT eternal.

Some aions are even contrasted with OTHER AIONS (Eph. 3:21, “the eon OF the eons”). Therefore, NOT ETERNAL.

All aions will come to all their ENDS (I Cor. 10:11, “the CONSUMMATIONS [plural] of the eons [plural].” Therefore, obviously not possible to be eternal!
In the case of the translation of the words “aion” and “eon”, there are obviously some intentional MIS-translations to make the text sound much more horrendous and scary to invoke fear in the heart of the reader. Fear is one of the main tools religion uses to manipulate the masses for their own ends.
If a certain concept, such as “Hell” for example is perceived by the people to be time without end and no second chance, imagine how the religious leaders are able to get people to do what they want through fear! And many do it on purpose knowing very well what the correct translation really is!
