One of the greatest blows against the doctrine of the Trinity is the fact the Jesus has a God. God is his Father and his Father is God. He can’t have a Father and be the Father also. God is the Father OF Jesus, Jesus is the Son OF God. (When I say “person” here I am using it in a grammatical sense, meaning an entity not as a human being — such as first person singular, second person plural, etc.)
It’s impossible to be OF someone and BE the same person also.
It’s also impossible to HAVE someone and BE that person as well. The fact that Jesus never really said that he was God — that it was possible for him to be himself and his Father at the same time, shows that this is not the case.
All things are possible for God
If Jesus actually were God, then why didn’t he come right out and say it clearly? The reason is that it just isn’t so. There is no clear and unquestionable evidence anywhere in the Bible that Jesus and his Father are the same person. The doctrine of the Trinity is a clearly a fabrication of the church and has no basis whatsoever in scripture.
Jesus HAS a God:
Jesus makes overcomers a pillar in the temple of “his God”. (Rev 3:12)**
Jesus writes the name of “his God” on them. (Rev 3:12)
Jesus writes on them the name of the city of “his God”. (Rev 3:12)
New Jerusalem comes down from heaven from “his God”. (Rev 3:12)
Jesus said on the cross “my God, my God”… (Mat 27:46)
Jesus’ God and Father is our God and Father also
- Jesus ascended to _“his Father” and their Father, “his God” and their God. (Jn 20:17) also that God was “his Father”… (Jn 5:18)
Paul had a God who was NOT the same person as Jesus
Paul thanked “his God” through Jesus Christ. (1Co 1:4)
Paul said that “his God” would supply all our needs… by Christ Jesus. (Php 4:19)
God was IN Jesus not the same person AS Jesus.
- “…the Father is in me, and I in him.” (Jn 10:38)
He is known by the angels, his disciples and even demons as the Son of the most high God
…[he] shall be called the Son of the Highest (Luk 1:32)
And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God. (Jn 6:69)
And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. (Mat 16:16)
…What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? (Mar 5:7)
…from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father… (2Jn 1:3)
Conclusion:
Jesus not only had a God, but God was his Father. It is impossible that Jesus could be the same person as his Father. The disciples had a God who they differentiated from Jesus. Jesus was known by the entire universe that he was the Son of the most high God and never the most high God Himself.
Probably one of the most striking proofs that Jesus and His Father are not the same person is his presence at the Throne of God. The New Testament tells over 40 times that Jesus would sit or is sitting at the right hand of God on the throne of God. If he is literally at God’s right hand on the throne of God, it would be ridiculous to think that he is also God.
Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God. (Luk 22:69)
Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the **Son of man standing on the right hand of God. (Act 7:56)
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Heb 12:2)
Literally sitting on the right hand of his God, His Father, is Jesus the Son of the Living God. According to what we read in the bible, it is literally impossible for Jesus and God to be one in the same entity.
On the throne of God, Jesus is sitting right next to… himself??
