Was Jesus a Christian?

Jesus wasn’t a Christian, but a Jew. The disciples weren’t called Christians until decades after Jesus left Jerusalem. His name wasn’t even Jesus, but Joshua. The word Jesus isn’t even Hebrew. His last name isn’t Christ nor does it mean Messiah, Messiah is “mashiach in Hebrew. The word Christ comes from a Greek religion Serapis Christ. Paul’s converts from this religion were called Christians as were its bishops — none of whom had ever even met Jesus.

  • The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch. (Acts 11:26)

He wasn’t born in Bethlehem — more probably in Nazareth. He wasn’t born of a virgin, nor was his mother of the tribe of Judah, but Levi. His mother wasn’t a perpetual virgin as Jesus had brothers and sisters, nor was she the mother of God, since Jesus wasn’t God.

Jesus and family didn’t flee to Egypt from the wrath of Herod. There was no “slaughter of the innocents”. These stories were born out of verses translated out of context from the Old Testament.

Jesus wasn’t a king, but a priest. He was executed between two insurrectionists for sedition. He didn’t die for anyone’s sins (much less brought back from the dead), in fact he probably didn’t die at all as he was reportedly seen in other countries and reports of a wife and children.

Jesus wasn’t eternal “God the Son” since he became a son at his baptism: “…this day have I begotten thee.” (Verse was borrowed from Psalms 2, then changed later to hide the obvious falsehood)
