Christianity’s biggest lie: SALVATION!
That is a bold and very brash statement. Let me explain. Paul, the false apostle of Christianity, redefined salvation for his new religion, in “his gospel” to be salvation from Hell through belief only in the vicarious act Christ made when he was crucified on the cross.
Jesus, arguably the greatest master to ever walk the Earth, was raised to be Messiah King of the Jews. This messiah king was prophesied in the Jewish bible to (key word) “save” God’s people from their “enemies and those who hated them”, specifically their Roman oppressors. However, this great plan came to naught when Jesus was arrested, charged and convicted of sedition and (apparently) executed. This was obviously a disaster in the eyes of many Jews who were sincerely looking forward to the messianic age with the coming of Jesus who they saw as the Messiah King of the Jews.
Christianity: Paul’s New Religion
Though Jesus’ disciples and followers continued to spread his teachings, Paul, seeking to stop them — though unsuccessful, decided to infiltrate and corrupt it from within and make it his own religion with his own gospels and his own teachings that made it easy to join his new religion.
“Salvation” from the physical enemies of the Jews became salvation from sin. The method of execution of Jesus for sedition, the cross, became the symbol of salvation from sins and the great symbol of Christianity.
Paul’s teaching of salvation from sin became a replacement for Jesus’ teaching of how to enter the kingdom of God. Paul taught: “that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved (not from your enemies, but from the eternal fires of Hell!); for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Now this is not the private type of confession as with a priest in a booth, this is talking about PUBLIC CONFESSION. This type of confession is meant to be an example for others to follow, in order to get new converts for Christianity. Worse yet is the requirement to believe in one’s heart that God raised Jesus from the dead.
It is impossible to know if Jesus even died, let alone know if God actually brought him back to life! Believing is NOT knowing. Belief is required to be deceived. It’s alright to believe something, but to base one’s own salvation on something that could be a lie is dangerous.
Paul’s False Teachings, Contrary to Jesus’ Teachings
Jesus taught that to enter into the kingdom of God it was necessary to: be righteous, do good works and do the will of God. Jesus never taught it was necessary to confess your belief that God brought him back to life to be saved. This was a false teaching that Paul used to easily get new converts to his new religion called Christianity — and it worked!
Jesus taught doing good works was necessary for righteousness to obtain eternal life (Mat 25). Paul taught just the opposite: “For by grace are ye saved, through faith, and this is a gift of God, not of (righteous) works, lest any man should boast. (Eph 2:8,9)
Jesus never taught it was necessary to confess your belief that God brought him back to life to be saved
Paul taught: “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us…” (Tit 3:5) Jesus listed many works of righteousness that we should do to be “righteous” and “enter into life eternal”. (Mat 25:31-46)
The Jews believed that Jesus was the prophesied Messiah king of the Jews who would “save” them from their oppressors — that’s true. Many Jews believed Jesus died and God brought Jesus back from the dead — that’s true also.
But when Paul started teaching that faith alone could save a man’s soul, that’s when there began a great division in the early church. James, the brother of Jesus, wrote:
What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. (James 2:14-18)
