Animal Sacrifice

God hated animal sacrifices, burnt offerings was never commanded by God and would not accept them. It is impossible that the execution of Jesus could be compared to the sacrifice of animals or take the place of this bloody ritual that God hated nor could it even take away sins — only obedience to the will of God and doing his commands could ever give man peace with God. Nothing can ever “take away” sins, but repentance and making amends for sin is the only way to receive remission and forgiveness of sin

Jeremiah who makes abundantly clear that the shedding of blood of animals can never take away sins. The writer of Hebrews says: “is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins… which can never take away sins”.

The Way to be Right with God

If the blood of innocent animals can never take away sins, then how can the blood of one innocent man (Jesus) take away the sins of the world of all time? But this is what REALLY makes one right with God:

Substitutionary Atonement

This theory makes Jesus into the sacrificial lamb of an ancient Jewish practice in which a lamb (or some other animal) was brought to the priest and was slaughtered — a practice they copied from heathen nations, not commanded by God. “For I spake not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices” (Jer 7:22)

Jesus was a type of sacrificial lamb

One problem with this theory is that God never was happy with the practice of animal sacrifice, in fact, he hated it from the very beginning. God did not accept their sacrifices as a expiation (the act of making amends for guilt). God preferred that men repented, forsook their sins and made peace with God directly.

But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you. (Jer 7:22-23)

Abstaining from Meat Part 1

Paul calls abstaining from meats a doctrine of devils and hypocritical lies. Paul went completely contradictory to the teachings of Jesus and his disciples. The Church uses the Christ’s teaching, that “nothing that goes into a man defiles him” to prove he taught that it is alright to eat flesh meat.

However, the majority of what Jesus and his disciples taught and lived show clearly that this could never have been what he was teaching. This was a false doctrine that Paul taught, knowingly, in contradiction to Jesus and his disciples. James, the brother of Jesus, was made the head of the Christian movement in Jerusalem by Jesus himself.

What Jesus was not only focused on was abolishing the cruel practice of sacrificing animals to eat the meat of their bodies, but the ritual itself, as a means of redemption. Animal sacrifice that the Jews practiced was a heathen practice they absorbed and modified that Jesus also came to do away with.  It seems animal sacrifice was, to him, not only a form of idolatry, but also cruelty to animals.

Opinion: It’s possible that Jesus considered the ritual of animal sacrifice as a form of idolatry. In the case of the Heathen, it was idolatry.

Paul belittled believers and called them “weak” because they didn’t have “faith” to eat the meat of animals. It seems that Paul thought it was alright to sit and eat meat offered to idols in order to “become one” with them in order to “win them” over to Christ.

“I came to end the animal sacrifices, and if you do not stop making sacrifices, the wrath of God will not leave you alone.” (Gospel of the Hebrews) (Jesus, cited from Epiphanius, Panarion 3:16)

Abstaining from Meat Part 2

It is evident that the early Christians abstained from flesh meats, contrary to what modern Christianity would have us believe. Nazarenes Epiphanius says that the Nazarenes “eat no meat”. Hugh Shonfield, in The Passover Plot: The name borne by the … Continue reading

Myths About the Bible

The bible has many mistranslations, forgeries, contradictions and inconsistencies — largely because of modifications it suffered. It is not considered by many to be historically reliable. However, there is still much Truth that survived. Continue reading

What the Early Christians Really Believed

The early first century Christians were radically different than what we are taught about them. They had their own gospel and rejected any alterations of the truth and even the letters of Paul. These Jewish Christians held teachings about Jesus and God that were much, much different than those of modern Christianity. The only difference between Jewish Christians and the traditional Jews was that they believed in and practiced the teachings of Jesus… only. Continue reading

Earliest Jewish Believers — Ebionites Part 2

They used only the Gospel of the Hebrews written by Matthew. (The Ebionites repudiated Paul) and used only the Gospel according to the Hebrews, making but slight account of the others. (Eusebius, Eccl. Hist. iii.27.4.) Continue reading

Earliest Jewish Believers: Ebionites Part 1

The very first believers in Jesus were not Christians. Christianity was not in existence yet — Christianity was a creation of St Paul. There were many names for these believers, but as Epiphanius writes: “Ebionite was at first… a common name for all Christians” (Epiphanius Adv. Haer., xxix. 1). Continue reading
