If Jesus is only a man, and not God as most Christians believe, then that changes everything we have ever thought about existence. If Jesus was not God and was only a man like you or me, then everything that applied to Jesus applies to us also:
- We also existed before this life.
- We were spirits incarnated into human flesh.
- We were creations of God and knew God and learned from God also.
- All things that Jesus could do are possible for us also, since we also are “sons of God”.
- We all pre-existed, came from God and return to God.
This means that we also existed before this life; our spirits weren’t created at the time of conception as we are taught. Like Jesus, we lived before in another existence, we’re incarnated into this body of flesh, and when we die we continue on in a different life with a different body.
This means that we also existed before this life
The difference between us and Jesus, according to the Bible, is that he was the first born of God; he was just the first (not the only) to be begotten of God. The word “begotten” couldn’t possibly mean God had an intimate relation with his wife and Jesus was conceived, unless he did have a wife. But what it seems to mean is that he was only the first to be born of God in a metaphorical sense. That means we are begotten of God ALSO.
Before the “correctors” made changes to the gospels, this is what it actually did said about Jesus’ baptism. It is strikingly different than what we read in our KJV bibles today:
And it came to pass when the Lord was come up out of the water, the whole fount of the Holy Spirit descended upon him and rested on him and said to him: My son, …
…in all the prophets was I waiting for thee that thou shouldest come and I might rest in thee. For thou art my rest; thou art my first-begotten Son that reignest for ever. (The Gospel of the Hebrews)
So then Jesus was the first to be begotten of God — according to the bible. In other words, metaphorically (?) speaking, born of God. If he was the first, then it follows that there is a second, a third and so on…
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (John 1:12-13)
This verse is referring to our spirits which were born of God, because the blood, flesh and will of man could only be referring to the physical body which is born of the Earth. So, just as Jesus was “born of God” at his baptism, being the FIRST (not “only”) begotten of God, we all have also been “born of God”.
Jesus didn’t always have all power (according to the bible):
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is [*has been] given unto me in heaven and in earth. (Mat 28:18)
*(many other translations include the words “has been” which is the correct form of the Present Perfect Tense, which is technically an action that began sometime in the past and may or may not continue to the present)
Just the way it’s written in the canonical Bible, Jesus, being the messiah of God has been given all power and authority over all things. In this sense, he was a special human being. But not that he was the creator of the universe as the church would have you believe. We are sons of God, just like Jesus was a son of God, therefore we have the potential to do all the same things he did. He said so.
But if the power were given to him at some time in his existence, that means he didn’t always have it. And, according to the Bible, since only God is eternal, and has eternally been all-powerful, then according to logic, Jesus couldn’t possibly be God, nor equal to God and not even the so-called second person of the godhead.
Even Jesus himself admitted that God was greater than him. If God was greater, then he couldn’t possibly BE God. He even says that he is “returning to the Father” and his God. If he is returning to his God, he couldn’t possibly BE God.
If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.(Jn 14:28)
And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all and in all. (1Co 15:28)
…I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God. (Jn 20:17)
Notice the key word AGAIN in the verse below in John 16:28. This means that he has been here and left BEFORE. This is more evidence for pre-existence in the Bible and the fact that Jesus is a reincarnated soul like us, though much more advanced — obviously.
“I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go (return) to the Father.” (John 16:28) (Maybe he meant: “I leave the world again“. He could have left the world hundreds of times in his many incarnations!)
There are other many translations other that render John 14:28 like this: “I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.” (NIV) Remember, Jesus was a ‘son of man’ the same as we are — not a god, or the second person of a trinity, which doesn’t exist.
Instead of it taking the meaning “I’m leaving the world “again”, they translate “again” as simply, I’m saying this again. Either way, he’s saying he was with the Father before and he’ll return to the father again (who knows how many times he’s returned to the Father?).
At any rate, he’s very plainly stating that he had an existence before his current incarnation, and he’s returning to where he was before this current existence in the flesh.
We also are creations of God and we existed before this life — the same as Jesus. This means we were created by God and existed before our physical birth. The bible says that we were chosen by God…
…before the world was created:
According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation (creation) of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: (Eph 1:4) (evidence of pre-existence of souls)
Pre-existence of souls:
the belief that each individual human soul existed before mortal conception, and at some point before birth enters or is placed into the body. (https://en.wikipedia.org › wiki › Preexistence)
Just as Jesus was before the creation of the Earth:
(Jesus) Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, (1Pe 1:20) (evidence of Jesus’ pre-existence. similarly: Eph 1:4)
God knew Jeremiah before he was formed in his mother’s womb. “Before” he became a flesh and blood being God know him as a spirit — “before” he was born.
Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. (Jer 1:5)
This is evidence in the Holy Bible itself, that at least some (if not all) of the writers, believed in the doctrine of pre-existence of souls, and/or the Hebrew believers that the Greek writers were writing about.
Whether you believe in reincarnation or not, the fact remains that the Bible clearly shows that Jesus was sent to this planet as a messenger, and returned when his mission was complete.
Since Jesus was not God, he was no more than a human being as we are. Therefore, we reincarnate the same as he did. And the most encouraging aspect of this is that everything that he did we should be capable of since he is not “God Almighty”, much superior to us, having powers beyond our grasp.
