Finally, the writer of the Gospel of Matthew ends his narrative inventing the claim that there are prophets who spoke and said that Jesus would be called a Nazarene:
And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene. (Mat 2:23)
There is no prophecy about Jesus being called a Nazarene in the Old Testament or any other source — so it couldn’t have been “fulfilled”. There is no prophet in any part of the Bible that has uttered the words: “He shall be called a Nazarene”, unless there were some books or passages left out by those who assembled or “corrected” the Bible in the first place.
The gospels of Matthew and Luke are the only 2 that have accounts of the narrative of the infancy of Jesus, but the two accounts are so different that it is nearly impossible to reconcile the differences between the two.
