Can you KNOW it’s True?
If you can’t KNOW for sure something is true, it might be false. And If you believe something that is false then you are deceived! If someone can convince you to believe a lie, then they have control over you … Continue reading
Blind Faith
Blind Faith is not Really Faith at all
Faith is, or should be, trusting in something that you know to be true, or at least have substantial evidence to base your belief on. If you are trusting in something that you have no way of knowing that it is the truth or at least have sufficient amount of evidence that it is truth, then you could really be deceived. Real faith is trusting in something you have a fairly strong reason to believe to be true, not merely in something that you take for granted.
Believing in something that you just take for granted is the best way to be deceived, and worst of all not even realizing it. Most people today trust in what they have been told by the people in their pulpits or something that they have been taught by someone holding some title, diploma or whatnot, who they merely believe to know what they are telling them is true. Now in some cases this might be a good idea, but when it comes to religion, it may be safer to have a good amount of doubt or suspicion.
The problem is that people today haven’t researched for themselves to see if something is true. If you don’t know it for yourself, you could be, and more than likely are deceived. But It’s really hard to blame them though since there are thousands of people in every corner of the earth with their own version of the truth or what they consider to be the correct interpretation of something assumed to be true.
The bible is not absolute truth nor inerrant. As far as the bible goes, which is supposed to be the absolute standard from which to base everything, is not so absolute. In fact, it is full of contradictions, inconsistencies, forgeries, and has undergone surgery, by dishonest men, to remove parts that the church were considered not viable with the doctrines of the church of the day. What’s worse is that to go back to find out what the original works actually said is impossible since there is none in existence — the original documents have been destroyed or lost. The most recent codexes of the bible go back only to the 4th or 5th centuries, several hundred years removed from the departure of the main writings of Christianity, the writings of the which could have lead us to the actual truths that they taught.
Fear
Jesus promised: “Ye shall KNOW the Truth, and the Truth shall set you free” (Jn 8:32) Paul promised: “That IF thou shalt BELIEVE in thine heart that God hath raised Jesus from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” (Ro 10:9) … Continue reading
Believe On or Believe In?
What is the difference between Everlasting Life and Salvation? Or is there a difference? Why are these terms different for the same concept? Or are they the same? I guess to most people, they could care less. However, if they have the same meaning then there is a great contradiction here.
If they are different, then there is something here that we haven’t seen before. It’s not a wonder most people don’t study and try to understand the bible for themselves, it takes a bible scholar with a doctorate degree to understand some of it. So people just leave the interpreting to the guys with the credentials and accept what they have to say as God-sent truth.
According to Jesus, Everlasting Life is obtained by keeping the commandments and doing good works. According to Paul, salvation is merely believing and one cannot be saved by good works which we have done, but belief only is “accounted” for righteousness. Apparently, salvation is being saved from Hell. The concept of Hell is foreign to the Bible. Maybe this is the reason Jesus preferred to use the term eternal life.
This is a direct contradiction of a basic concept. To make things more complicated, Jesus says in one of the gospels, “He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.” So in this place it seems that Jesus is agreeing with Paul in that all you have to do is believe. Weather or not he actually said those exact words is a different story.
But then in other places he says clearly that you have to keep his commandments and do good works to enter into life. What is one to believe? It’s not a wonder that people leave it up to the clergy to get their truth.
Did Jesus Really Die? Part 2
It is only a belief, not knowledge. Jesus promised, “Ye shall KNOW the TRUTH and the truth shall set you free.” (Jn 6:63) Belief is not knowledge. Belief can be, but not necessarily, based on facts and truth.
Belief can not know Truth with any certainty, only facts can be known. Therefore, it is only a belief that Jesus died, not a fact, and not necessarily the truth. Continue reading
Did Jesus Really Die? Part 1
Three Main Reasons Jesus Did NOT Die on the Cross
The first thing to remember is that it takes belief to be deceived. If you don’t have facts you only have opinions. Truth is based on fact, not belief.
Three main reasons:
-
- Belief that Jesus was raised from the dead — a requirement for salvation.
- Jesus appeared to his disciples in his wounded physical body — in secret.
- Large amounts of herbs that were known at the time to be curative were brought to the tomb.
More on Belief
Belief and Truth — Now these two are almost exact opposites. Belief is accepting something you have little or no evidence of. Belief is subjective, it can be based on feelings or opinions. However, Truth is much different, it is something you KNOW to be a fact because of the evidence — there is no need to believe. Truth is objective, it is what it is no matter what anyone believes, feels or what someone’s opinion is. Truth is Truth regardless of anyone’s opinion. Someone’s opinion may change, but not the Truth — Truth is absolute. Continue reading
How to Know What the Truth Actually Is
I believe that some things it says in the bible are actually true, but that is all it really is… just belief. So, “How to know what the truth actually is ?” The only way is to look deep down inside, and take a sincere and critical look at what you already believe and test everything with Logic. That’s a start. Continue reading
I Just Want the Real Truth
This whole site could go in the dumpster tomorrow if I were convinced that it were all wrong. I’m not afraid or ashamed to say I’m wrong and if I am convinced one day that anything on this site is not the Truth, I won’t hesitate to change it to what is the Truth or even delete it altogether. I only want the real truth — no matter what it is. Continue reading
